Advocacy
The Advocacy Committee seeks to create opportunities for school community discussions on topics such as diversity and undoing racism. They engage with our local Community Education Council (CEC14) to represent our school needs on a district level. They plan our annual appreciation breakfast with local politicians and local community organizations to show our appreciation for their contunued support and to keep us top of mind when funding opportunities come up. And finally, they stay infomed about what is happening in the DOE in general, as well as other school districts.
Audit
The audit committee shall conduct an internal audit of all financial affairs of the organization. The treasurer shall make all books and records available to the audit committee. The audit committee shall prepare a written report to be presented to the membership at a general membership meeting or upon completion of their review and investigation.
Budget
The budget committee shall be responsible for drafting: (1) a proposed budget each spring for approval by the membership, (2) a written review of the prior year's budget, both of which must be presented for vote at the May membership meeting, and (3) presenting the budget process.
Communication
The Communication Committee has the central role of ensuring that the efforts of the PTA reach the broadest audience. The committee shall be responsible for marketing PTA events, managing and updating the school website, and encouraging parent participation and recruitment. The chairperson of the membership committee shall make every effort to coordinate their outreach efforts and strategies with the school’s Parent Coordinator. This committee may also prepare a newsletter which contains, at a minimum, messages from the principal, PTA president, list of executive board members, meeting dates, student and parent events, school policies, budget and any other material deemed appropriate by the association.

The grant writing committee pursues a variety of grant avenues, some of which are annual events. On the fundraising front, the committee is responsible for specific fundraising events as well as the drafting and circulation of direct appeals and the solicitation of charitable donations.
